Littleton Softening Point LBM-5
This device is designed for operational and laboratory measurements to meet the ISO 7884-6 standard CSN (method of determination of Littleton softening point of the glass). For more details see this standard.
Test specimen - fiber - is inserted into a vertical furnace, which is subjected to a controlled temperature regime. During a linear temperature rise, an extension of the lower end of the fiber is measured. Once the elongation speed reaches 1 mm / min, an instantaneous temperature measured inside the furnace is recorded, temperature program is stopped and the temperature returns to the default value.
Measurement of the fiber elongation takes place without any contact by digital camera and a lighting system.
The measuring cycle is controlled and evaluated by an external PC with custom software.
